Abu Dhabi: The UAE-granted lunch break has ended as part of efforts to protect workers from the scorching heat. Such a law was allowed for three months. The working hours will now be from morning to evening.

The compulsory lunch break was from June 15 to September 15. During this period, working in open spaces was prohibited from 12.30 pm to 3 pm.

Violation of the law carries a fine of up to AED 5,000 per adult and a maximum of AED 50,000. In addition, the company will be downgraded to a lower grade. The ministry estimates that most companies have complied with the law.
