New Delhi: Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has thanked Punjab Police and Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for nabbing three members of a gang that attacked the family of his sister Asha Rani. Raina pointed out that the action of the Punjab police would help prevent such crimes from being repeated even if they do not get their lost ones back. Raina’s paternal sister’s family was attacked on August 19 in Pathankot, Punjab. Her father-in-law’s husband Ashok Kumar and son Kaushal Kumar succumbed to their injuries on August 31 at the hospital. Following this, Raina arrived in the UAE for the IPL and returned home after completing his quarantine term. Raina had approached the Punjab Police and Chief Minister Amarinder Singh to nab the culprits. The three were nabbed during a special investigation team set up by the Chief Minister. The search is on for 11 people.
