A high number of new cases have been added again, even though the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia has been going on for more than five months.
Government data that entered until Saturday at 12.00 WIB showed that there were 2,277 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
The addition caused the total Covid-19 cases in Indonesia to reach 123,503 people, starting from the time the first patient infected with the corona virus was announced on March 2, 2020.
This information was conveyed by the Covid-19 Handling Task Force through the Covid19.go.id website, which was updated on Saturday afternoon.

A total of 2,277 new cases were discovered after the government examined 30,565 specimens from 11,692 people sampled.
In total, there have been 1,693,880 specimen examinations from 963,602 people sampled.
With a note, one person can undergo the examination more than once.
The patient recovered and died
The same data also shows hope with the increasing number of recovered Covid-19 patients.
It is known that there are an additional 1,749 Covid-19 patients who recover in a day.
Thus, the total number of Covid-19 patients who were declared cured and no longer infected with the corona virus was 79,306 people.
They were declared cured after two tests with the method polymerase chain reaction (PCR) shows negative results for the corona virus.
Currently, the percentage of recovered patients reaches 64.2 percent of all Covid-19 cases.
However, there is still sad news with the addition of Covid-19 patients who have died.

In the period 7 – 8 August 2020, it is known that 65 Covid-19 patients have died.
This resulted in an accumulation of 5,658 Covid-19 patients who died in Indonesia since the beginning of the pandemic.
This number is equivalent to 4.6 percent of all Covid-19 cases.
The dynamics of the number of Covid-19 patients who have recovered and died have left 38,539 people still undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, there are 83,624 people currently under suspicion.
Covid-19 cases have been recorded in 34 provinces or all provinces in the country, from Aceh to Papua.
In detail, there are 480 districts / cities out of 34 provinces that have been affected by the corona virus infection.
