KOMPAS.com – The police have named Regent Agam Indra Catri and Regional Secretary Agam Martias Wanto as suspects in the case of hate speech against a member of the DPR RI from West Sumatra named Mulyadi.
They were named suspects after the police conducted a case title on August 7, 2020.
Regarding the determination of the suspect, Agam Regent Indra Catri also spoke up.

Indra said, his party respects the legal process carried out by law enforcers.
In addition, he also asked all parties to respect the ongoing legal process by always respecting the presumption of innocence.
“As a good citizen, obedient and cooperative to the law and law enforcement. I have previously met the police call to be examined as a witness in the matter. Furthermore, through a lot of news, I have been identified as a suspect,” said Indra.
Indra continued, for the next step he submitted the case to his legal advisor.
“Defending ourselves to us, of course, can only be done during the trial. Currently, because it is currently in the stages of examination and filing, self-defense efforts cannot be carried out,” said Indra.

Regarding the case he is currently experiencing, Indra also appealed and invited all parties, especially residents of Agam Regency, sympathizers and supporters to always be patient and hold back.
“Let us respect the current legal process,” he said.
Previously it was reported, Regent Agam Indra Catri and Regional Secretary Agam Martias Wanto were named suspects by the West Sumatra Regional Police.
Both were involved in cases of hate speech against members of the DPR RI from West Sumatra Mulyadi.

The determination of the suspect was only determined after the police conducted a case title on August 7, 2020.
They were named as suspects based on the letter number 32 / VIII / 2020 / Ditreskrimsus and number 33 / VIII / 2020 / Ditreskrimsus on August 10, 2020.
“After the case was held last Friday, August 10, 2020, was named a suspect,” said Head of Public Relations of the West Sumatra Regional Police, Kombes Stefanus Satake Bayu Setianto, when contacted by Kompas.com, Wednesday (12/8/2020).

Stefanus said that before Indra and Martias, the West Sumatra Regional Police had already identified three suspects, namely ES (58), RH (50) and RP (33).
The three of them were arrested and detained by the West Sumatra Regional Police on June 18, 2020.
The suspects are suspected of distributing a photo of Mulyadi with a woman and writing hate speech on Mar Yanto’s Facebook account, which is a fictitious account.
