700,000 MSMEs have received BLT funds of Rp. 2.4 million


JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) has confirmed that the disbursement of grants or direct cash assistance (BLT) worth Rp 2.4 million for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) has started today, Monday (17/8 / 2020).

“Productive assistance has (started to be disbursed today),” said Ministry of Finance’s Expert Staff for State Finance Kunta Wibawa Dasa Nugraha to Kompas.com, Monday (17/8/2020) evening.

He revealed, the disbursement on the first day had reached around 700,000 MSMEs that had received grants. This means that the government has disbursed funds of up to Rp 1.68 trillion.

“Not yet (all MSMEs have received grant funds), only around 700,000 UMKMs,” he explained.

Previously, Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs (Menkop UKM) Teten Masduki said, there were 12 million MSMEs that would receive grant funds. However, at the initial stage it has already been allocated for 9.1 million recipients with a total budget of Rp 22 trillion.

Meanwhile, grant funds are only given to MSME actors who have never received or received loan assistance or the like from banks (unbankable).

This program starts on August 17, 2020 – December 31, 2020 with a scheme in the form of money worth IDR 2.4 million per MSME actor, which is paid once through a channeling bank.

“Technically, the recipient of the micro business, whose criteria is that he has never or is not currently receiving a loan from a bank, will be transferred in the amount of Rp. 2.4 million per transfer, directly transferred to the recipient’s account,” explained Teten in his written statement, Wednesday (12 / 8/2020).

To register, business actors are identified and proposed by the proposing agency. Among them, the agency in charge of cooperatives and provincial or district / city MSMEs, cooperatives that have been legalized as legal entities, ministries / institutions, banking and finance companies registered with the OJK, and government credit program channeling institutions consisting of BUMN and BLU.

“Currently, there are 17.23 million micro business actors who come from ministries / institutions, the Office of Cooperatives and UKM Selindo, Cooperatives, LKM, himbara (BRI and BNI, BUMN (PNM and PT. PEGADAIAN) and others, then validation is carried out at Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, “he explained.
