The pulmonary ward in Lovech is closed due to an infected patient with coronavirus

The pulmonology department of MHAT “Prof. Dr. Paraskev Stoyanov” in Lovech was closed for 48 hours due to a patient with COVID-19, according to the Regional Health Inspectorate / RHI /.

The total number of registered positive cases of coronavirus for the district during the last 24 hours is five.

The first case concerned a 44-year-old man who was hospitalized on July 9 in the pulmonary ward. After a positive PCR test on July 13, he was taken to the Infectious Diseases Department of the hospital.

The pulmonology ward was quarantined from 7 pm on July 13 for 48 hours, during which time the admission of new patients was suspended. Patients in need of hospitalization will be referred to the Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment of Lung Diseases in Troyan, BTA reported.

Immediate final disinfection in the ward, examination of the medical staff and the hospitalized patients were ordered.

The second registered case is a woman, 71 years old, with address registration on the territory of Lovech district – Dermantsi village. During the epidemiological investigation it was established that the person was hospitalized in the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Sofia. Contact persons are wanted.

A 23-year-old man and two 21-year-old women from Sofia also have coronavirus. The persons were diagnosed as positive by RHI-Sofia, and were transferred for monitoring and control to RHI-Lovech, as the quarantine period will be spent in the village of Lesidren, Ugarchin municipality.
As of 10 o’clock on July 14 on the territory of Lovech district the total diagnosed cases so far are 27. About them 11 active cases – 6 at home treatment, 4 – hospitalized in Lovech, one hospitalized in Sofia and 16 cured.
