Record few new cases of coronavirus in Russia
On Monday, a record few new cases of coronavirus were registered in Russia – 5940. This is the lowest figure since April 18, according to the country’s health authorities. The total number of carriers of COVID-19 reached 777,486, and the cured – 550,344. In Moscow, which is a leader in the black ranking, there is also a positive trend – in recent days here the new cases per day do not exceed 600. For the last 24 hours their number is 578.
The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said the 20-million-strong city had experienced all the peaks in morbidity and a second wave was not expected in the near future. Earlier, the authorities of the metropolis proceeded to the next stage of the abolition of anti-epidemic measures, as last week all schools, cultural centers, children’s camps and amusement parks opened their doors. From the same day, the discos resumed their work, but there the condition is that the number of visitors does not exceed 50% of the capacity of the respective nightclub. Cinemas and theaters in Moscow will open on August 1, and sports stadiums will be allowed to increase the number of guests from 10% to 50% of the capacity of the stands.
A few days ago, the Russian authorities lifted the mandatory 14-day quarantine for people arriving in the country. However, guests from abroad will be required to provide a negative PCR test for coronavirus or antibody test. The results of the analyzes must be translated into Russian or English and must not be longer than 72 hours. Russians arriving in their homeland are given the opportunity to do their research in Russia for three days. At this stage, Russia and the EU have not opened air borders with each other.
