Private bus owners say they will not operate the service from August 1

Thiruvananthapuram: Private buses will stop operating in the state. The service will be suspended from August 1. The decision was taken by the Joint Strike Committee considering the financial liability.

Despite the government-mandated fare hike, private buses continue to suffer financial losses. The owners say that with the increase in fuel prices, the bus owners are not getting the financial benefit to continue the service.

The bus owners said the decision to suspend the service was due to the low number of people using public transport and the setbacks.
