Priority of the Month of Dzulhijjah, Do These 5 Practices

In fact, any practice can be done as a priority for the month of Dzulhijjah.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The month of Dzulhijjah is a time for Muslims to perform qurban worship on Eid al-Adha. In fact, any form of practice can be done in the month of Dzulhijjah, such as increasing the sunnah prayers of tahajud, dhuha, alms, reciting the Qur’an and others.

Ustadz Muhammad Ajib in the book Fiqh Sacrifice Perspective Syafi’i School the publication of Rumah Fiqih Publishing explains, there are some special practices that can be done in the month of Dhu al-Hijjah. Among them fasting, pilgrimage, qurban, dzikir, and prayer.

It is sunnah for us to fast from the 1st to the 9th of Dzulhijjah. In this case, Imam An-Nawawi said, among the sunnah fasts is fasting the first nine days of the month of Dzulhijjah.

In the book al-Minhaj Syarah Shahih Muslim, Imam An-Nawawi very firmly stated that fasting on the 1st to 9th of Dzulhijjah is very sunnah. Imam an-Nawawi said, “Even it is very advisable to fast these days, because fasting is one of the most important practices.” (An-Nawawi, Syarah Sahih Muslim).

In the book Al-Majmu ‘Syarh al-Muhadzdzab, Imam An-Nawawi also later gave a saheeh argument about the law of fasting. That is the hadith narrated by the wives of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.

“From Hunaidah Ibn Khalid, from his wife, from the wives of the Prophet, they said, the Prophet used to fast nine days in the month of Dzulhijjah, fast on the day of Ashura, fast three days in each month, fasting the first Monday and also Thursday in each month. (HR Abu Dawud, Ahmad, and Nasa’i. Ahmad and Nasa’i added, ‘and two Thursdays’).

From the nine days there was a fast called Arafat fasting namely fasting on 9 Dhulhijjah. There is also tarwiyah fasting which is fasting on 8 Dzuhijjah.

“From Abi Qatadah ra said Rasulullah SAW said, fasting on the day of Arafah removes the sin of two years, namely the previous year and the year after. Ashura fasting removes the sin of the previous year. (HR Jamaah except Bukhari and Tirmizy).

The Hajj clearly has a very important position in Islam. Although it is only mandatory for those who are capable, but because of the longing that many people try to be able to get the call of Allah to be His guest.

One of the virtues is that they are called guests of God. Then what more glory will a man pursue if he has already won the title of God’s guest.

Another glory that God’s guests will receive is the ease of the way to heaven. If their pilgrimage is successful, then there is no reward from Allah except heaven.

“From Abu Hurairah Radhiyallahu Anhu said, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, from one umrah to another it will be the remission of sins between the two.
