The Venezuelan president gives the European Union ambassador 27 hours to leave the country


Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced Monday evening that the Ambassador of the European Union Mission in Caracas should leave the country within 72 hours in light of Europe imposing new sanctions against his country.

Moscow – Sputnik. Maduro said: “I decided to give the European Union ambassador in Caracas 72 hours to leave the country. European colonialism is sufficient.”

And the Council of the European Union earlier, yesterday, 11 Venezuelan officials on the list of sanctions, accusing them of “undermining democracy and the rule of law” in Venezuela.

A statement by the council pointed out that the sanctions include freezing assets and the ban on travel to the European Union, adding that the sanctions affect certain personalities and do not affect the population of Venezuela in general.
