Serious increase in coronavirus infections in Croatia

52 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the last 24 hours in Croatia. Thus, the total number of infected rose to 2,777.

More than 4,000 people are in isolation, and the active cases are 515. Of these, 75 are hospitalized and two are on a respirator. Of the total number of infected, 2,155 have already been cured and 107 have died.

After a period of improved epidemiological situation, Croatia has recently seen an increase in the number of new infections due to non-compliance with precautionary measures and the introduction of cases from abroad. Statistics show that between May 12 and June 18, less than 10 cases per day were registered in the country. Moreover – in early June there were 4 days without a single new infected. Due to the decline in open cases on June 15, there were only 7 active cases. By comparison, they are currently 515, an increase of over 73 times in just two weeks.
