We work more from home than our neighboring countries: “Working from home remains the norm”


Between mid-March and early May, no less than 62 percent of the Belgian employees worked from home. “This puts us just below the United Kingdom (65 percent), but above neighboring countries France (59 percent), the Netherlands (55 percent) and Germany (40 percent),” says Katleen Jacobs of SD Worx.

Belgium is also above the average of 57 percent home workers. According to SD Worx there are several explanations for this. “For example, the working culture in Belgium is not the same as in Germany, for example. But the share of the service sector towards industry also differs per country, along with government measures during the crisis,” said Jacobs.
