Varkala: Former MLA Varkala Kahar has been given a flight ticket to travel abroad. The project is being implemented under the aegis of Varkala Pravasi Care. The return ticket is for those who are on the priority list and have no financial ability. The eligible persons are selected by expatriate caregivers in the Gulf, Kahar told reporters.
The Varkala Pravasi Care is also supplying essential medicines to the expatriates in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar. In the first phase, ten kilos of medicines were sent by courier service. Ten kilos of drugs will be sent on Monday. The parcels are delivered to the address holder by INCAS and OICC office bearers in respective countries. More than 1,000 workers were displaced by the lockdown in various parts of the Gulf.
