“TUI restarts holiday flights from June”

TUI will start again with some holiday flights from the end of June, the top executive of the travel group reportedly reported to the German newspaper “Rheinische Post”.

By starting in late June, TUI hopes to be able to take advantage of the summer season. The announcement by TUI comes shortly after several southern European countries have announced relaxation of the corona measures, which will make tourism possible again.

The Spanish island of Mallorca would be a likely first destination, according to the CEO. The Spanish government has announced that it will be the first to relax measures in the Balearic and Canary Islands for tourists. Besides Spain, TUI also mentions Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Croatia and Austria as destinations that are likely to be visited again soon.

The Netherlands

It is still unknown whether the announcement also applies to the Dutch branch of TUI or whether it only applies to the German part of the company. It is not yet known what measures TUI will take on board its aircraft. However, it is expected that it will be mandatory to wear a mask on board.
