The US ambassador to Germany resigns

The US Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenel plans to resign in the coming weeks, DPA reported. After Grenel’s departure, his deputy, Robin Quinville, will be on the diplomatic mission.

In March, The Daily Wire reported that Grenelle has notified the White House of his intention to resign as Ambassador to Germany.

In February, US President Donald Trump announces intention to appoint Grenel as acting director of national intelligence, after which the American diplomat stated that he would not head the department permanently. On May 21, the U.S. Senate approved Republican nominee John Ratcliffe as director of national intelligence.

A spokesman for the US Embassy in Germany declined to comment in an interview with Reuters for the resignation of the ambassador.
