Italy registered 119 new victims of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours compared to 130 the day before, and the number of new infections was 669 compared to 652 yesterday, the Civil Protection Service said, quoted by Reuters.
The total death toll in the country reached 32,735, the third highest in the world after the United States and Britain.
The total number of infected became 229,327 people, the sixth highest in the world after those of the United States, Russia, Spain, Britain and France.
The number of people who are still infected to date is 57,752 compared to 59,322 yesterday.
There are 572 people in intensive care units compared to 595 yesterday, which confirms the downward trend in this indicator. To date, 138,840 people have recovered from 136,720 yesterday.
To date, 2.164 million people have been tested for the coronavirus, up from 2.122 million yesterday. The population of Italy is about 60 million people.
