Member of the Confederation of African Football Confederation Technical Committee Abdel Moneim Hussein asserted during the program “Echo of Playgrounds” that “CAF” would not withdraw the African Super from Zamalek, if the sports court decided to strip Esperance of the Champions League title.
He said: “Withdrawing the African Super Cup title from Zamalek club is completely out of the question, because the Egyptian team is not a party to the dispute between Moroccan Wydad and Tunisia’s Esperance in the CAF final case (for the 2018-2019 season).
He continued: “If we assume that there is a hypothesis to withdraw the African Super Cup title from Zamalek, the latter will have to file his complaint with the Sports Arbitration Court, because he is the right holder, and the error is not his fault … So this matter is not completely possible.”
Zamalek crowned the beginning of this year, the African Super Cup, which combines the Confederation Cup African Cup champion and the Champions League, after its victory over Esperance by three goals against one goal.
