Increased police presence will be in the coming days on the roads in our country due to the heavy traffic that is expected in connection with the weekend. There will be twice as many road patrols over the next three days.

Where necessary, MoI teams will assist drivers by manually regulating traffic

Reverse traffic has also been created at the exit from Sofia in the direction of Pernik, and today and tomorrow 2 lanes will be opened in the direction of the exit and one lane in the direction of the entrance. The opposite will be on Monday.

The Ministry of Interior expects today and tomorrow between 40,000 and 50,000 cars to leave Sofia. At the end of the working day, the traffic at the exit of the capital to the Trakia Motorway is expected to increase.

Law enforcement agencies have warned that traffic jams and traffic jams can form on highways and are advising drivers to be careful. The warnings came true – 11 km of the Trakia Motorway, before the start of one of the sections where repairs are underway, a traffic jam formed. Repair work is completed on the 21st km, bTV reported.

Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry and the State Road Safety Agency proposed “quick fines” for violators – the fines to be served virtually, and the slips to punish drivers immediately.

With the abolition of the checkpoints in the district cities, the Bulgarians got behind the wheel again, and the violations returned, according to the police. An action in the last week showed 42,000 speeding offenses, more than half of which were reported in populated areas.

Accidents committed by drivers who used alcohol or drugs increased by 1/4 in the first 5 months of the year compared to the same period last year.

In order to avoid accidents in the next three days, there will be more police patrols on the road. They will also include gendarmerie forces that will monitor both traffic safety and compliance with anti-epidemic measures and public order.

The attention of the security authorities will also be paid to the high school graduates, who have started to gather more and more often, most often in store parking lots. At the moment there are no fines for high school graduates, but in case of non-compliance with the rules, the police will draw up acts of violators. There will be an increased police presence at the exits of the cities. And where necessary, teams will regulate traffic.
