PAK PLANE CRASH

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines’ Airbus A320 aircraft crashed near the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi on Tuesday. Initial reports said the plane had 91 passengers and eight crew members.

A PK-8303 flight from Lahore to Karachi crashed near the Jinnah Garden area in Malir, a residential area near Karachi airport, just before landing. Eight homes in the colony were damaged after the plane crashed. Twenty injured residents were rushed to the hospital. Troops rushed to the scene.

Karachi airport was temporarily closed following the accident. Pakistan had given the go-ahead for a lockdown concession a few days ago. In 2016, 40 people were killed when a Pakistani Airlines flight crashed.
