Islamabad: English all-rounder Ben Stokes has remarked in his latest book about India’s run chase during the 2019 World Cup against England. The English all-rounder was mentioned in his book Ben Stokes on Fire. Former Pakistani spinner Mushtaq Ahmed has come out with serious allegations against the Indian team.

Isfaq alleged that India was deliberately losing the match to prevent Pakistan from entering the knockout stage. “I was with the West Indies at last year’s World Cup. West Indies players Chris Gayle, Jason Holder and Andre Russell came to me after India lost against England. Then he told me. ‘ India do not want Mushi and Pakistan to enter the semi-finals. That’s what the game against England lost. ‘ Mushtaq said in an interview with Pakistani news channel ARY Sports.

Former Pakistani bowler Sikander Bakht made similar allegations. In his book, Ben Stokes tweeted that India was deliberately losing the Pakistani semi-final. But Ben Stokes later tweeted to deny all this.

Stokes explained that he had said in the book that he was talking about India’s run chase and that his words were twisted. At the time, India were trying to find runs and save wickets. Stokes says in the book that this is what led India to defeat and surprised India’s approach.
