Outbreak of COVID-19 in Frankfurt after a church service


The German authorities trying to track peoplewho attended a church service in Frankfurt after 107 people tested positive for coronavirus.

Church services have been allowed in the federal state of Hesse since May 1, provided strict rules of distance and hygiene are followed.

The service in question took place in a Baptist church on May 10 and it is not clear whether all 107 were present at the service.

“This situation shows how important it is for all of us to be vigilant and to avoid being careless, especially now during the easing of restrictions. The virus is still there and will spread,” said Hessen’s state health minister Kai Klose.

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Germany has risen to 178,281, according to data from the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases. The number of deaths increased by 31 to 8,247.
