Coronavirus infections have increased in the United States against the background of easing the measures. The number of confirmed death cases in the United States caused by the new coronavirus, exceeded 96,000, the world’s largest, according to data from Johns Hopkins University. More than five million people have been infected worldwide, with more than 1.6 million of those cases in the United States, according to data from The Wall Street Journal.

President Trump called on the government on Friday to reopen the nation’s places of worship as “vital sites,” citing safety recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He said he would “skip” all governors who disagree, although he did not specify how he would do so, Focus added.

While some states are already allowing it to reopen temples, others – such as Rhode Island – have no plans to do so, despite the president’s statement.

Coronavirus cases in Montgomery, Alanya, have increased rapidly, from 35% in the past week to over 1,050; hospitals there say there is a shortage of intensive care beds. Alabama on Friday further eased restrictions on the spread of the virus, reopening entertainment venues such as arcades, cinemas and bowling alleys.

The governor of the state Nevada Steve Sisolak said his state aims to reopen casinos in Las Vegas and elsewhere on June 4th. New York has announced that areas such as Long Island could open as early as next week.

Despite the accelerating pace of reopening the country, restrictive measures continue to put pressure on the US labor market. On Thursday, new data showed that about 2.4 million Americans had lost their jobs by May 16. For the whole of April employers in the United States have cut more than 20 million jobs.
