More than 5 million people are infected with the new coronavirus worldwide, TASS reported, citing its census based on official statistics.

According to the latest data, the confirmed cases are 5,000,890. They have doubled in one month.

327,724 of those infected have died.

The country most affected by the pandemic is the United States. On USA a share of nearly 1/3 of the registered infected and over a quarter of the dead. It is in second place in confirmed cases Russia.

In the last 24 hours, 8,849 new cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Russia. The total number of infected since the beginning of the pandemic is 317,554 people. There were 127 deaths per day, and a total of 3,099. 92,681 people were cured.

On the third place is Brazil (293,357 infected, of whom 18,894 died).

According to Johns Hopkins University more than 1,500 people have died from the new coronavirus in the United States in the last 24 hours.

For the 24-hour period until 20.30 Eastern time yesterday (3.30 Bulgarian time today) he registered 1561 deaths in the United States from Covid-19.

The total number of deaths in the United States – the worst affected country by the pandemic – already exceeds 93,400. The country ranks first in the world and the number of confirmed infected – about 1,550,000.

About 295,000 Covid-19 patients in the United States have recovered. A total of 12.6 million coronavirus tests have been performed in the country.
