Khadi masks into foreign markets; New hope for India

 From India, masks to foreign markets to counter Kovid. Khadi and Village Industries Commission has decided to export the masks. The company is planning to export to the US, Dubai and Mauritius. This comes after the Ministry of Commerce lifted the ban on export of non-medical masks.

Khadi is made up of various types of masks. The silk mask is made of two layers, three layers. During the lockdown, Khadi received orders for eight lakh masks. Six lakh masks were issued. The orders were received from the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the Prime Minister’s Office, various ministries of the central government, the Jammu and Kashmir government and the public.

Over seven and a half lakh masks have been given to the district administration free of charge. Exports to European and Central Asian countries are also being sought. The Khadi authorities see this with great anticipation. Employment is expected to increase, including weavers. Increasing exports and rising production will boost Indian trade.
