Increase the number of beds for Covid-19 patients to 3,500: HMC

Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) has announced that it will increase the number of beds for Covid-19 patients to 3,500 hospitals within the next two weeks. Dr Saad Al Kabi, chairman of the Health System Committee for Risk Control, said there was no shortage of beds for Kovid-19 patients, which required hospital treatment.

ICU Acting Chairman Dr. Ahmed Al-Mohammed said there were about 400 beds in the intensive care units of hospitals that serve as HMC’s COVID treatment centers. It could also increase the current capacity to 700.

At present, Covid-19 patients are being treated at HMC’s Communicable Disease Center, Hassam Mubairik General Hospital, Cuban Hospital, Raslafan, Mizaid, Shahania and Liebseer hospitals, as well as in the industrial sector. Authorities have urged people across the country to participate in virus prevention. Eid celebrations should be avoided and social exclusivity should be avoided.
