“I like talking to Kane Williamson a lot.” Virat Kohli

NEW DELHI: Indian captain Virat Kohli has shared his friendship with New Zealand cricket captain Kane Williamson. Kohli tweeted the picture with Williamson saying, “I love the friendly conversation we have between us, good man.”

Williamson and Kohli befriended the Under-19 World Cup. The two men fought back and forth. In the semi-finals of the 2008 tournament, Kohli’s Indian team beat Williamson’s Kiwis. With that World Cup win, Kohli opened the door for the Indian senior team.

Williamson replaced it 11 years later in the ICC ODI World Cup semi-final. Kohli defeated India and advanced to the New Zealand final.

The Indian team toured New Zealand earlier this year. The video of Virat Kohli and Kane Williamson sitting on the sidelines of the boundary line was highly debated. Fans have called it friendship beyond cricket.

Kohli had previously questioned his friendship with Kane Williamson. Colley’s answer was: ‘Kane and I are of the same mind. Those with the same philosophy. It is amazing to think so in two different countries. We speak the same language ‘.
