Gambhir is a talented player and angry with Dilip Vengsarkar

New Delhi: The retirement of Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar has created a void in the Indian Test batting line-up. But Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag thought that India would be the next generation. However, with the retirement of Dravid, Laxman and Sachin, Sehwag and Gambhir, who are known as India’s greatest openers, have faded. With the arrival of Murali Vijay, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma, the two lost their place in the team.

Former India captain and selection committee member Dilip Vengsarkar has said that Gambhir should be playing for India for a long time now. Gambhir was India’s number one opener when he was on the selection committee.

“Gambhir was a very talented player. But he could not control his anger and emotions. “Gambhir was a player he should have played for India for a long time,” he said in an exclusive interview with Times of India.

Gambhir announced his retirement in 2018. Gambhir has been a great player in two World Cup finals for India. Gambhir scored 75 runs off 54 balls against Pakistan in the 2007 T20 World Cup final.
