From Sachin to Dhoni; India lose by knocking


Ravi Shastri: Batting India lost the semi-final of the 1992 ODI World Cup to the batting coach of current India coach Ravi Shastri. Ravi Shastri and Srikanth opened the innings for India, chasing a 237-run target in the first match. Srikanth got off to a good start with his 39 off 50 balls while Shastri scored just three runs in the first 27 balls. He scored a total of 57 off 112 balls. India lost the match by just nine runs. In the next match, Shastri, who was knocking against Australia, scored 25 runs off 67 balls while India chased down 236 in 47 overs. India lost by one run. These defeats sealed the semi-chances for India to win.
