Dr Anthony Fauci of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases told National Public Radio (NPR) that it was “possible” that the United States would have a vaccine against COVID-19 in December this year.
However, one of the most famous figures in the White House’s coronavirus task force added that no promises could be made on the issue. Fauci also noted that once a vaccine is available, it does not mean it will be fully effective.
The doctor continues to insist that the vaccine should be given to the general public only after scientists have considered it completely safe.
