Kasargod: Kovid-19 is the world’s first film to be released. The film is produced in Tulu language. Santhosh Mata is a Malayalee. The hero of the film is Tulu superstar Naveen de Padil from Karnataka State Award for Best Actor. The film is titled The Life of Hope.

Swetha Karthik is produced under the banner of Desi Flix. The activists are planning to start shooting in and around Mangalore after the lockdown. Tulu films have a much smaller role than world cinema. Tulu-speaking people are the only people in South Kannada and Udupi districts. Only a handful of films have won awards and gained national attention. It is from such a film world that a very different and timely relevant film comes out.

Actress Naveen De Padil started his acting career with Adoor Gopalakrishnan’s Mammootty-starrer Vadharan. She later appeared in several Tulu-Kannada films. Naveen has also acted in Mammootty’s Sikkari directed by the Kannada director.

The story and screenplay of the film is by Santhosh Mata. Santosh Madha is the nephew of famous lyricist Kaithapram. Jayaraj, Kamal and Roshan Andrews

He has also worked as a system assistant. Santosh also wrote the dialogue for the movie Mammootty starring Sikari. Tulu’s writer and poet Sasiraj Kavoor is preparing the dialogue for ‘Jitake’. Nikhil S Praveen, who won the National Award for his first film ‘Bhayanakam’, will play the camera and the music is by Deepankuran.
