Sofia. Coronavirus infections in the world have exceeded five million and 400 thousand people, more than 344 thousand people have died and more than two million and 247 thousand have recovered, according to a reference on the site Worldometers.

The currently active cases are over two million and 815 thousand, of which over 53 thousand are in serious or critical condition.

In the first place in terms of the number of infected remains the United States with over one million and 666 thousand people and over 98 thousand dead, followed by Brazil with over 349 thousand infected and over 22 thousand dead. In third place is Russia with over 335 thousand cases and over 3,300 deaths. Fourth is Spain with over 282 infected and over 28 thousand dead. In fifth place is the United Kingdom with more than 257 thousand infected and more than 36 thousand deaths from COVID-19.

Of Bulgaria’s neighboring countries, most cases occur in Turkey – over 155 thousand infected and over 4,300 dead, followed by Romania with over 17 thousand and 1 176 dead, Serbia with over 11 thousand infected and 238 dead, Greece – 2 876 infected and 171 deaths and Northern Macedonia with 1,941 infected and 113 died.
