Coronavirus infections in the world have exceeded five million and 300 thousand people, more than 340 thousand people have died and more than two million and 160 thousand have recovered, according to a report on the website Worldometers.
The currently active cases are over two million and 800 thousand, of which over 44 thousand people are in serious or critical condition, FOCUS reports.
In the first place in terms of the number of infected remains the United States with over one million and 645 thousand people and over 97 thousand dead, followed by Brazil with over 332 thousand infected and over 21 thousand dead. In third place is Russia with over 326 thousand cases and over 3,200 deaths. Spain is fourth with more than 281 infected and more than 28,000 dead. In fifth place is the United Kingdom with more than 281 thousand infected and more than 36 thousand deaths from COVID-19.
Of Bulgaria’s neighboring countries, most cases occur in Turkey – over 154 thousand and over 4,200 deaths, followed by Romania with over 17 thousand and 1 166 deaths, Serbia with over 11 thousand infected and 237 dead, Greece – 2 874 infected and 169 deaths and Northern Macedonia with 1,921 infected and 112 dead.
