Netflix streaming service is going to delete accounts of people who have not been active for a year. They announced this in a blog post.
With 183 million users worldwide in the first quarter of 2020, Netflix is one of the largest streaming services in the world. All subscribers pay a monthly fee to enjoy the service, ranging from € 7.99 for the “basic” formula to € 15.99 for the “Premium” formula.
To prevent inactive subscribers from continuing to pay, Netflix will automatically delete the account of users who have not logged in for a year. They first send an email asking if you want to use the service. If you still want to do that, it is sufficient to simply log in. If there is no response to the email, the account will be deleted.
Few inactive users
Netflix is the first streaming service to take this measure for inactive users. They emphasize that only half to one percent of users are currently inactive.
