At least 40 people tested positive for coronavirus after attending a service at a Baptist church in the western German city of Frankfurt, local health officials said.
“Most are not particularly ill. As far as we know, only one of them has been admitted to hospital,” said Rene Gotschalk, head of Frankfurt’s health department.
The deputy head of the Baptist parish, Vladimir Pritzkau, said six people were in hospital.
Separately, authorities in the city of Hanau, 25km east of Frankfurt, said at least 16 people from the city were infected with the coronavirus after being in the same service.
Due to what happened in Frankfurt, the authorities in Hanau canceled a Muslim religious service planned for tomorrow at a local stadium.
