Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihail Okoliiski: The black scenario is a strong second wave COVID-19 in autumn, combined with influenza and measles

Mihail Okoliyski

We deal with the infection, but relaxation can strike such a 3 in 1 blow

No one can “see” clearly in the future how the coronavirus pandemic will behave. This was said by the WHO expert from the office in Sofia, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mihail Okoliiski.

He reminded that the worst-case scenario is the rise of a powerful second wave of COVID-19 in the autumn, accompanied by the traditional flu and the unlocking of one of the vaccine-preventable diseases such as measles. According to Okoliyski, such a brutal combination has now passed us by, because in Bulgaria measures have been taken for influenza vaccination of people over 65, and now at the first possible moment the vaccinations of children have been resumed.

According to the WHO, Bulgaria is dealing with the infection, but a release could strike such a 3-in-1 blow.

Expect more in the interview with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Okoliyski tomorrow
