In June, US President Donald Trump announced his decision to hold a G7 summit with leaders to attend. The change comes after German Chancellor Angela Merkel made it clear that she would not attend the summit as the Kovid threat continued. The US is set to hold a September summit in the US.
Trump told reporters on the flight to Florida from Florida. The latest proposal is to hold a summit on the weekend before or after the UN General Assembly, to be held on September 15. Trump has said that the G7 is outdated and should be expanded into G10, or G11, including India, Australia, South Korea and Russia.
Alyssa Alexandra Farah, Director of Strategic Communication at the White House, said: They were the only G8 involved until Russia was eliminated in 2014. They were expelled for annexing Crimea to Russia.
