Thanks to hardware and software improvements, the X8 M50i’s 4.8-liter biturbo V8 with a maximum output of 523 hp. 723 Nm of maximum torque now generates 612 hp. and 800 Nm of maximum torque. The tuning package allows the XB7 to accelerate from 0-100 km / h in just 4.0 seconds. The 1/4 mile sprint takes a remarkable 12.6 seconds and top speed is limited to 290 km / h.
The unit features Alpina-specific intercoolers, two additional radiators, a larger transmission oil cooler and a unique exhaust system with active valves that allow the driver to personalize engine sound. The XB7 also has four-piston Brembo front brake calipers that press a 15.5-inch double-ventilated disc.
The air suspension reduces the ground clearance of the modified SUV by 2 cm in Sport mode or at speeds above 160 km / h and by 4 cm in Sport + mode or at speeds above 250 km / h. The standard equipment includes 21-inch wheels with Alpina’s typical thin spokes, and 23-inch wheels are available as an option. The front lip spoiler is also a well-known element of the company’s tuning package, and small visual modifications are everywhere on the body.
In addition to high-performance engine modifications and stylish exterior changes, the XB7 also receives luxurious interior improvements. They include a new iDrive controller with the company’s engraved logo and Alpina-specific design. The package also includes a ceiling upholstered in Alcantara.
For all this, Alpina wants $ 142,295. This means that the tuned XB7 costs $ 41,700 more than the X7 M50i, which costs $ 100,595. Deliveries of the modified SUV will begin in September.
