Georgian police have arrested local tennis star Nikoloz Basilashvili, who is currently ranked 27th in the ATP world rankings. The 28-year-old athlete was detained for beating his ex-wife, in the presence of their child.

Nikoloz Basilashvili has won three ATP titles. He has triumphed twice in Hamburg (2018 and 2019) and once in Beijing (2018). In 2017, he played in the semifinals of the Sofia Open, but lost 1: 6, 3: 6 to Grigor Dimitrov.
