They ate fatty foods such as burgers and chips and then took a memory test. They later repeated the experiment after eating a healthy salad with sunflower oil.
The results show that brain function declines within two hours of saturated fat intake. After the salad, the participants kept their attention completely.
From previous research, it is known that cognitive abilities do not decrease until after five days of unhealthy eating. “Even an unhealthy lunch can reduce productivity at work,” the researchers note.
