A magnitude 5.3 earthquake shook the coast of Crete

A magnitude 5.3 earthquake was registered early today off the coast of Crete, TASS reported, citing the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center.

The quake’s epicenter was 141km south of Heraklion, home to about 138,000 people. The quake was at a depth of 10 km, BTA reports.

No casualties or damage were reported.

On Saturday, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported a magnitude 4.8 earthquake in the same area.
