The UAE National Olympic Committee decided today, Sunday, to postpone the activities of the fifth edition of the National Sports Day, until further notice.

The organizers have not explained the reason for the delay, but it is likely that it was due to work to limit the spread of the new SK virus infection.

The activities of the National Sports Day were scheduled to start on the 5th of March this year, with wide community participation from various institutions, bodies, departments, representatives of the private sector and all age groups.

The Minister of Health and Community Protection Abdul Rahman Al-Owais and the Minister of Education Hussein Al-Hammadi announced, during a press conference yesterday, at a headquarters in the headquarters of the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management in Abu Dhabi, a set of precautionary measures to reduce the possibility of transmission of the “virus” infection.

Among the most important of these measures is the suspension of studies in kindergartens, as well as student activities and trips at the state level, and the allocation of two planes to transport nationals of the country present in Iran, among others.

According to the official statistics presented during the press conference, the number of Corona virus infections in the country has reached 21 so far, of which five have recovered.
