The singer Calogero offers the rights and receipts of his new song to the nursing staff who are currently facing the coronavirus epidemic. He also composed it on this occasion.
Songwriter Calogero posted a video on his YouTube channel on the evening of March 21 to address his audience to present a new song, “We Act Like It”, composed during confinement.
“Like you, I am confined. I made a song with an author called Bruno Guglielmi. We would like this song to be used for something, so we decided to pay all our rights and all the revenues of this song to the nursing staff, “said the musician.
A committed artist
The video already has nearly 90,000 views and the song, which relates the daily life of the French at the time of confinement, will be officially available for sale on March 26.
In 2014, Calogero had already composed one in tribute to two young people murdered in 2012 in Échirolles, his hometown.
The spread of the coronavirus has inspired many artists to compose songs. Some prefer a humorous tone, like the Franco-Swiss Jean-Michel Mattei with his title “You know, I have changed”, a parody of “I have not changed” by Julio Iglesias, others recall the gestures to adopt to avoid contamination. Dozens have been posted on social media.
