Dada to supply half a crore rice in Bengal


BCCI President Sourav Ganguly offers relief to West Bengal victims Dada has decided to distribute rice worth Rs 50 lakh to those residing in government schools following the lockdown. The Bengal Cricket Association said in a press release.

Ganguly is bringing rice to the poor with Lal Baba Rice. India has announced a lockdown for 21 days from midnight on the 24th to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The decision, which affects over 130 million people, is even more disastrous for the lower classes. West Bengal has announced the lockdown from Monday.

Ganguly had said that the West Bengal government would open the Eden Gardens grounds, indoor facilities and players’ dormitory to a temporary hospital. Social Media welcomed the announcement of Ganguly’s offer of rice. The BCCI, meanwhile, has been criticized for failing to offer any consolation relief to Covid19.
