About 150 Indians stranded in Iran will be flown back to India on Iranian air flights. They will be brought to the Mumbai airport by 12.30 pm on Friday. The rest of the Indians in two flights will be returned in the coming days. The rest will be delivered by March 15, 16 or 17.
The ministry has so far returned 900 Indian nationals from abroad. The Indians were returned from Maldives, Myanmar, China, US, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Nepal, South Africa and Peru.
The situation in India is not as sudden. The virus has infected people from outside India and their families. The first priority now is to identify the victims through testing. There are 52 testing centers and 56 sample collection centers in the country. One lakh testing kits are currently available. Steps have been taken to provide more numbers.
The vaccine against coronavirus can take anywhere from 18 months to two years, she said. All the facts related to the virus are being studied. There are currently no fully validated studies available. It is generally assumed that the virus cannot survive at high temperatures. But there are no studies confirming this, the health ministry said.
