The US Air Force will be allowed to wear a veil and a turban.

The US Air Force has simplified the process of obtaining permission to wear religious headgear by military personnel, Sputnik reports. The new rules apply to wearing a veil and a turban.

US Air Force personnel are also allowed to lift their hair and beard, provided their appearance remains neat and unaltered.

Prior to that, the US military had to apply for religious clothing separately and individually. But no deadline was set for these requests. Now, the licensing process should last no more than 30 days if a person serves in the United States, and no longer than 60 days if a person serves at a US base abroad.
