The Sudanese Transitional Sovereign Council announced today, Friday, the resumption of negotiations with armed struggle movements, in Juba, the capital of the State of South Sudan.

Moscow – Sputnik. The council’s press office statement said: “The members of the Sovereignty Council, members of the government negotiating team for peace negotiations, Lieutenant-General Shams al-Din Kabashi and Professor Muhammad Hassan al-Taishi, went to Juba, the capital of the State of South Sudan, Friday morning, at the head of a delegation that included, Mr. Minister of Defense The team was the first corner of Gamal Omar and a number of experts to continue negotiations with the armed struggle movements, which were interrupted for a short period during which the government delegation held consultations on issues that witnessed divergent views with the armed struggle movements during the previous round.

The government negotiating delegation returns to Juba, after completing its consultations with the components of the transitional government and partners from the political forces and civil society organizations.

The delegation was seen off at Khartoum Airport, Secretary General of the Sovereign Council, Major General Osama Al-Siddiq Jadallah, and a number of officials.

On December 15, the Sudanese government and armed struggle movements signed a two-month renewal of the Juba Declaration of Goodwill, to expire on 14 February 2020.
