In a speculation held on January 29, eight people were detained at the State Gambling Commission, including its chairman, Alexander Georgiev.
For 20 years, the Gambling Commission has been under the control of businessman Vasil Bozhkov, his longtime partner Tsvetomir Naydenov told bTV on January 31.
On January 30, deputies from the NFSB / OP submitted a request to the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Commission (CPCONPI) Sotir Tsatsarov to check the assets and revenues of the composition and leadership of the State Gambling Commission over the last five years.
Meanwhile, one of Vasil Bozhkov’s associates – Borislav Bekyarov, was detained at the Vienna airport and all extradition actions in Bulgaria will be taken, the source of Dir.bg reported.
Bozhkov himself was detained in the United Arab Emirates, Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev said informally last night. He was adamant that every effort would be made to have another Bulgarian oligarch who fled Bulgaria to be brought to our country.
