The US Department of Justice announced that a man from the US state of Arkansas tried to detonate a car near the Pentagon, and was arrested.

The Justice Department indicated that the suspect’s name was Matthew Richardson, 19, who was arrested on Monday inside the Pentagon car park.

She added that the security man claimed to have seen the man standing next to a car and trying to set fire to it using a cloth that was placed inside the fuel tank.

A statement came to the ministry, Newspaper published American Tribune-Star: “After the officer approached Richardson, he alleged that the suspect told him that he would blow up this car, and then he tried to escape, but he was arrested.”

“According to the documents presented to the court, the owner of the vehicle is a soldier and is not familiar with Richardson,” the statement added.
