According to Sputnik, the Republic of Azerbaijan tightened its control over its borders with Iran following the spread of the Corona virus in Iran.
The State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan stated that the land borders with Iran have not been closed and only special controls are in place.
People crossing the Iranian border will undergo special screening and verification before entering the office building, the committee said.
Earlier, Turkey temporarily closed its borders with Iran after preventing 43 cases of Corona virus in Iran. Armenia also imposed flight restrictions with Iran.
The Afghan National Security Council also announced on Sunday that authorities had decided to suspend air and ground communications with Iran because of the spread of the Corona virus.
It is worth noting that information on the first cases of coronary artery disease in Iran was released on February 19. According to official statistics, the virus has now reached 43 people; eight have died in Iran so far.
