Schiphol is looking for an alternative to flights to China Financial

That is what Dick Benschop, CEO of the airport, says during an explanation of the annual figures. He will soon be discussing alternatives with, among others, slot coordinator ACNL.

Many airlines are waiting in line to fly from Schiphol, Benschop said. He wants to investigate whether the liberated space due to the epidemic can be allocated to those airlines.

Schiphol does not yet know what kind of airlines are on the waiting list. The slot coordinator has that information. It must ultimately also give the green light for the new final distribution.

ACNL was not yet available for comment.

The largest airport in the Netherlands currently sees only 20 flights a week to China. Before the virus outbreak, there were a hundred. Most flights are operated by Chinese airlines such as China Southern Airlines. KLM is not currently flying to China.
